Title: UK Spec '95 500E Carburation problems
Post by: TobyR on April 26, 2007, 09:05:35 AM
Hey guys,

Having a few problems with my GS

1)  When I come off of the throttle, it settles at about 3,000rpm, and then SLOWLY backs down to normal idle speed. Sometimes it sticks at 3,000rpm and I have to lower the idle speed to fix it.

2) When I start from cold, the bike won't idle, I have to hold it at about 2,000 revs when I'm stopped, etc, for about 30 minutes of stop start riding, and then it will idle fine (Apart from point 1) and will also restart easily. What would cause the bike to not idle when cold and idle fine when hot?

Thanks,

T

Sounds like lean condition. Vacuum leak maybe. Check your spark plugs :
