Title: Micron Slip On
Post by: chico4313 on April 27, 2007, 10:43:04 AM
Oh man it's been a while since i posted! (Possibly due to the fact that I've been working on my truck since it still feels like winter in Maryland) Truck looks good too if any one wants to see pictures!

Any way, I really want a micron slip on exhaust. Is there a certain one I have to get for my 2006 gs f or can i go ahead and get this black one:

Do I need to do any other Upgrades to help out the exhaust?
I know i gotta take it to a muffler shop yadda yadda i just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt my baby! :kiss3:

Please let me know
Thanks Chico

Riding partners always welcome! Do you know how to do re-jetting? I am not what you'd call Mechanically inclined, but my friend at the dealership said he can slap the pipe on my bike, so i hope all goes well.

Where do you live at? I live right behind Gwynn Oak Park

I rejetted my 97.  Its WAY easier than I thought it to be.  :)  I'm sure I could help you through that, if it isn't that much different than the older models.  I think there are three jets instead of the two that were in my carb.  Either way I would be glad to help if I can.

I'd be interested in seeing how the pipe fitting goes as I'd like to do a slipon but I'm not exactly sure how it works either.

I live on the west side of Patterson park in Butchers Hill.

One thing I've been wondering and maybe you'll know since you were sure enough to spend a couple hundred on this ... are the exhaust pipe diameters all the same ? A local bike shop has that same muffler hanging on the wall for $150 (new , but they dropped it and it has a ding on what would be the inside once it's mounted)

Nope not all the same diameters,  but generally close enough that one side can be swelled to match up :thumb:

Yeah, any muffler shop can make a reducer and weld a pipe onto the GS exhaust system. Usually the muffler is larger than the GS system, if you get one that's smaller then you're going to hurt performance, but unles you get your pipe off of a 250 you won't have that problem.
