Title: sounds like a sewing maching??
Post by: dmp221 on July 22, 2003, 01:05:17 PM
Maybe some of you have seen this from the Suzuki website...if some folks think the GS sometimes sounds like a sewing machine, it may be because of corporate heritage..!!  From the website:

Suzuki wasn't always the Motor Corporation. In 1909, Michio Suzuki founded the Suzuki Loom Company in the small seacoast village of Hamamatsu, Japan. Business boomed as Suzuki built weaving looms for Japan's giant silk industry. Suzuki's only desire was to build better, more user-friendly looms. For the first 30 years of the company's existence, its focus was on the development and production of these exceptionally complex machines.

I thought it was the BMW's that are supposed to sound like sewing machines  :)

I wonder what made the company change direction to vehicles from weaving looms?

The Ducati brothers started out making typewriters and Honda was a bearing company.

Would you need a new needle for that? I'm sure Srinath has a fix that just requires a couple washers from Radio Shack.
