OK I heard from my old friend that he wants to sell his 96 GS.
So we are fitting new tars on it this week - BT45's. Brand new front and rear. I have jetted it, its been running great for the last 3 months and I have been on his case about maintenance.
Now he has a indemnity bonded title for it (I'll have to see it this week to see WTF that looks like) but its 100% legit and title comming, and it can be sold and the new owner gets the title when they register at the dmv is what he said.
~7500 miles and asking price is $1600. Like I said, all maintenance done and new tires like tommorow or day after.
If anything needs doing, I'll make sure I do it, whether he'd put it up for sale or not because between me and him we dont trade $$, its always work for work, he does my lawn care and I do bikes for him. But watch this space. I might take it back and start using it as a model for parts fitting ... I have 1/2 a mind to do that, but my bike is getting ready as we speak, so we should do the sale and work on mine I think.

hey srinath ( :bowdown: ) i'm selling mine to... well trying to. it a 1990 20k decent shape needs new chain and tires, and seeps oil from the bottom of the engine when it's warmed up And still has the electrical problem i posted last fall. you can jump it and it will run fine as soon as you turn it off you will haft to jump it. anywase
a guy is pushing me to take 650 for it (his final offer) and i wanted to know if you and anyone else from the clan thought it was a ok deal or if i should hold off or take it and run :dunno_white:

650 is a bargain if goats ... now why is not charging though ... alternator ... OK bad but not as bad as goats. Regulator ??? what is your resistance in the alternator like ... if regulator, I am sure you can borrow one and prove it and then hold out for better $$.
I routinely pay 1000 or so for complete and not running ... but then maybe I over pay ...

Mine is in Charlotte NC and its subject to me verifying that what my friend says is true. It may be best for him to do a local sale, I dont want to sell it to someone, have them try to register it in another state and come back and bite me ... AKA ... I might opt to stay away from it in all respects ...
