Well, I'm graduating from Kansas State University in 5 days with my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I accepted a job about 2 months ago with a company in Tulsa, OK and my wife and I are moving down there in two weeks.
Today, we closed on our first home :icon_mrgreen:

Its obviously a pretty big change for us, but we're excited to be done with school and moving on to other things.
Honestly, I'm freakin ecstatic about the garage, or, "The Man Cave" as I'm calling it. A kegerator, 6 bicycles, my GS, my Mustang and hopefully a few titty posters.

That's a nice garage :thumb: :thumb:
Congrats
Hey, is that house mostly made of Garage? Because if it is I'm super jealous...
That house would cost $900,000+ in Seattle.
Yeah, in Seattle it would been a 5 year ARM/interest only loan, too. In the mid-west, you can get houses like that (that are really sweet BTW) for $200,000 - $300,000. Nice house man. I am jealous! I need a big ass three car garage! Tulsa is a really nice city, from what I hear, too. But anything will seem great compared to the Little Apple.
Just kidding. :thumb:

Yup... I had to get a 7/1 ARM on my $285k Condo. :icon_confused: First and second mortgage + Home Owners Dues + Property Tax == $2600/Month :o  All for a 900 sq ft apartment in the ghetto...
And yeah... Nice house Turd, you f%$king @$$hole.
You'll have to buy some new toys to fill up that 3 car garage. :dunno_white:
Holy shaZam!! Congratulations :thumb:
I just bought a house here (near DC) at the end of last year, probably for around the same amount as you paid - maybe less - and it's got no garage, 1.5 bathrooms (that are separated by only a vinyl accordion-folding divider) and is 51 years old. I'm definitely jealous.
Don't get me wrong, though. I know I'm doing much better than a lot of folks around here, I just wish I got a garage with all the money I'm paying. I plan on building one as soon as I get the chance...
Again, congrats!
That house would cost $170,000 here.. It's nice!
Do we close on a house because its so close to the neighbors house ???
Atleast that's what i told my sales lady ... who BTW was not amused ... yes the heck with her ...
3 car garage with like a 200 sqft house next to it ... man someone has their priority straight.
My 2723 sqft house brand new in 2003 cost me a whopping 150K. Yes has a piddly 2 car gar which is packed to the rafters with bike doo hickeys.
I financed with 5% on a 15 year loan with ~3% down. Ate away ~30K of the purchase price by now.
Payments still under $1500 and I usually pay an extra 150 these days
When I am done with it the HOA will be in the trash can, and that leaves prop taxes and loan and insurance. I got MIP (27 bucks a month instead of 120 for PMI) but I am stuck with that for another year - 5 years on it minimum.
I got no neighbors in front or behind me ... boooya ... only 6 houses in the neighborhood are like that and one of them sold for 189K for 3245 sqft (but its a lousy plan comapred to mine - quality not just quantity)
BTW that house could cost 125-30K or less if its only got front brick (assuming ~1500 heated sqft) or ~70-80 a sqft if its got vinyl in charlotte.
Cool.
Srinath.
Thanks for the comments, we're excited! Its not all garage, its a little bigger than it seems at 2,400 square feet. Tulsa is a pretty cool town, my wife and I both grew up in Chicago and even we were impressed.
Yeah, the hosue only has a brick front. The rest is masonite.
-Turd.
Congradulations!
Can I live in your garage? :icon_mrgreen:
Congrats  nice buy :thumb:
AWESOME!! When you need electronics/appliances to furnish the man cave, ride down, rent a uhaul, and get everything from me at ridiculously low prices. I got your new sprocket today, I'll mail it out ASAP.
Wow, that's beautiful. Congrats, man. If I squint, I can just barely make out a Speed Triple in the garage...
congrats turd

Yeah, I know its hard to see back there. I guess the Paul Smart 1000LE is blocking the view of it a little bit...
-Turd.
Congrats. Best of luck.

Ohh, that's what that is. I thought that was your mini-bike commuter.
Once you get settled in, send me a PM and let's go for a ride. I'm almost 3 hours away in western OK, but I'd ride halfway there or more to meet another GS (the northeastern part of the state has more curvy roads as well...)
Turd you got all you priorities wrong, clearly the rest of the house is the garage, and the space you call a "3 car garage" is your real house

1,100 sqft of it is tile...hmm...I could make this work...
*getting ideas*
you lucky bastards... 200k on a house out here would get you jack poopy. my sisters was 760k, tiny garage (for my bike, hehehe), 3 bedroom, 1 bath. i freaking LOVE the house, but still, 760k is cheap for this area. everything else is breathing on 7 digits.
