Title: $5 Camera mount
Post by: jazerr on May 08, 2007, 10:10:04 PM
Alright, so I made the $5 camera mount from pvc, a machinescrew, etc. I mounted my video camera to it, and rode. Works like a charm, only the video is a little shaky. Any thoughts on how to eliminate shake?

when I put a ram mount for a GPS on my bike, the instructions said to mount the arm that holds the device perpendicular to the cylinder plane...  it makes a big difference.  It transfers more vibes when the arm is on the same plane as the cylinders.

I made the camera mount above a few weeks back ... I've yet to add any shock absorbant material between the mount and my bars, so vibration is a bit of an issue... Took two small videos from last weekend.

Saline ride - Part I (http://www.livevideo.com/media/playvideo_fs.aspx?fs=1&cid=2DBAAABD2F9D49C78F853FACADCC4D9B)
Saline ride - Part II (http://www.livevideo.com/media/playvideo_fs.aspx?fs=1&cid=0F303817988B4ECCA4365FA3651AEC93)

That is my friend in front on a Shadow 750.

Edit: The camera is a simple one, a Sony Cybershot DSC-P72

Cheers,
J

Yes...

How would one mount onto clipons...  I've getting another R6, so there's no middle bar.

I dont think this method would work with clip-on bars.  tape a camera to helmet?  would work but look cheesy :D
