I tried unscrewing it but it won't budge. I'm not even sure if it is screwed on....

I'm pretty sure they are all threaded on. I know it is in my Tacoma, dito for the transfer case shifter
every one I've ever seen was threaded .... i've had quite a few that were loose - maybe someone put threadlock on it ???
it has a pin in it
I had the same problem with a trooper at the junk yard so I got a small pipe wrence and It came loose, once off I saw a good amount of rust.
you may also want to pop off the shift-pattern diagram disk-on-top-=thingy and see if there's not a shim in it keepijng it from unthreading ... I've seen some shifters that had a notch cut perpendicular to the threads where a shim could be placed to lock it in :dunno_white:

I always thought it would be funny to extend the shifter in my truck up really high. Like a big rig shifter.
yeah it is going to screw off. They are a pain in the butt when they get stuck but it will come off, just have to turn it hard enough.
get a small screw driver under the shift pattern ,pops off then pull straight off no screws or pins just a press fit on a spline

May want to re-use the shifter :o :o :o Hell even 3-4 inches of Detcord and he'd have to worry about some major engine parts :o :o And doors :laugh: And more than likely it would be in some form convertible :laugh: :laugh:
Side note: 7 feet Detcord+ Big Pine Tree+ 1 Mile Away= Still got knocked backwards by the shock wave :laugh: :laugh: Seriously people worry about me dying in Iraq :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: It's much more likely to happen in my own backyard :icon_rolleyes:

Explosive cord or rope. Basically you wrap it around something you want to destroy, them boom. Watch some mythbusters, they have used that at least once :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

IIRC , it's been updated now to more of a "shaped-charge" type explosive , directing more of the force in one particular direction ... Terry would definately know more on this than I do though hehe
There is some that's physically shaped for directing the blast, and it works damn well :thumb: The shaZam! I can usually get my hands on is late 80's era, Basically just C4 a little bit dumbed down and stretched into about 1/4" rope :thumb: IIRC about a foot= 9 ounces of explosive. 1 pound C4 placed properly can level a small building :thumb: With Detcord your actual blast radius is fairly small but the shockwave can travel a very long way :o :o I've set car alarms off 3 miles away with it :o :o
The 'Nam era stuff was pretty raw and unrefined but it did the job, and did it damn well :thumb:
Mythbusters uses industrial grade Detcord. Not quite as powerful but still a hell of a lot of bang :thumb: i heard somewhere they use it for cleaning boilers and shaZam! :o :o
I can build my own grenades :o :o You can buy the shells pretty cheap from many places and the Blast caps aren't hard to come by. You can use rifle grade Black Powder packed VERY tight if you can't get Mil Grade powder. ***WARNING*** I do not condone this!!!!! It is a federal offense and incredibly dangerous!!!!! :o :o

I don't suggest any of this unless you have a large undeveloped property and some form of explosives training, It will kill you much more easily than any motorcycle
Ya , times have changed . i'm 34 now , but when I was like 12 through 15 I had a buddy whose father was an ex Green Beret . We got ahold of his Improvised Munitions fieldbook ( water soluble paper and all hehe) , saw the recipe for plastique , and Monsanto actually sent the potassium nitrate to my home ! I didn't answer the door lol , as I was 13 or so and didn't have the 80 bucks , or else we'd have probably blown limbs (at LEAST hehe) off of ourselves .
We used to get the waterproof wicks , black powder in a can , and make tennisball bombs when we went to his grandparents farm on weekends :o
Between that stuff , and having a sadistic (at the time) brother 2 years older than me that I had to stay home alone with all the time , i'm really rather astonished I made it to adulthood :dunno_white:
