Title: First GS Crash
Post by: Gibby on May 11, 2007, 10:12:07 AM
Justly had my first GS crash! Not a good start seeing as i've barley had it a week!
Typical story, motorist just drove off into the road without looking.

Not much damage luckily, just snapped my right brake handle.  So only £11 worth of damage.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

I dropped mine the first time I rode 2Up.  I started into a turn from a stop sign and some truck came FLYING around the corner, I stopped quick (with my bars still turned) and down she went.

The most important question is:      What did you learn from this and what can you do to avoid the situation in the future?

Good to hear you survived, bike being intact is a bonus.  :thumb:

Yea, I survived - nothing but a damaged evening.
Luckily I was able to pick up a spare brake handle from a breaker later that afternoon. £11 - could have been a lot worse.!

I been blessed that I haven't dropped my GS yet (August will be two years). I guess that I'm a little more cautious since I totaled my GoldWing on an LTD 3 and a half years ago.
Take your lessons to heart, ride like the cagers are out to get you. Because they are!

Sorry to hear about your crash :( Thankfully it's been like 1500mi for me and no wreck * knocks on wood *
