Title: Dropped Bike=Oil Light
Post by: saber7 on May 13, 2007, 06:23:31 AM
I dropped my 94 GS on my garage floor while I was warming her up , hard enought to break the clutch lever and mirror. The bike did stall before I could pick it up,I was only maybe 10-15 feet away when it fell over, now the oil light stays on when I start her up,I have only let it run maybe 45-60 seconds.  TIA

If your oil level is good, it sounds like maybe the sensor was damaged in the fall :dunno_white:

where is the sensor located? How would I test it?

did that myself.

checked the oil level, started teh bike, and waited for the light to go out.

it did.

it's fine now.

it just wanted to teach me not to drop it.

I have started it and let it run, but for no more than 45-60 seconds. Does anybody know what size socket I need to remove the sensor?

I pulled out the oil pressure sensor last night and tested it with air pressure and continuity and it tested fine so I now think it could be worst case-oil pump. What do you folks think?
