Title: Upgrades!
Post by: ledfingers on May 13, 2007, 04:49:52 PM
i did the kat750 rear wheel and shock on my 91 today. 2.5 hrs including cleanup time. i was a wee bit surprised, i thought this was going to be a hell of a lot harder. for the brake stay i just beat the piss out of it with a honda wrench and called it good. i'm going to paint it later, right now i'm getting everything working before i worry about looks. now all i need is a new front tire and paint and the thing is cherry.

honestly, it was suuuper easy. i had a huge array of shims for the sprocket so that i could just put everything in, bang out the brake stay, trim the chain guard, then measure where my chain was in relation the the tire, pulled it back apart shimmed the sprocket, put it back together, remeasured, tighted everything up and took it for a spin. but i don't recommend a 160 rt, get a 150, it made the process easier than if the tire had been wider.
