Post by: mach1 on May 15, 2007, 05:01:14 PM
So I went ahead and turned my mixture screw 3.75 turns out and now I have no lag or hang, Im not too rich or too lean I love it. the bike pulls frm 4 to redline. side note what does the bigger brass plug do for the engine? not the mixture one but the one below it.

Bigger brass plug ??? WTF you talking about ... some new fnagled GS BS.
Anyway on the 04 spare carbs I have the plug IMHO is a block off for the hole they had to drill to get the fuel passages drilled out. Remember carbs use bernoulli's effect and cappilarity. The fuel passages are in some cases bent or have a 45 degree angle to them. They drill them in one direction from one part of the carb, and then from another part they drill at another angle. Those 2 have to meet and that makes for a bent fuel passage. The drill needs to get in and out and that means holes through the outer wall of the carb. Which will have to be closed off.
Cool.
Srinath.

Ok cause my plug is missing   :dunno_white:. Im not sure if the shop drilled that one first and noticed they made a mistake then drilled the correct ones or whatever. That would make sense why my gas milage sucks Im guessing im leaking fuel, Ill plug it at work today. thanks to all who helped
