Been talking shop with other friends i ride with 02 kawi 636 , 06 gsxr 750, 01 929, 03 gsxr 1000, 06 r1... they always get a laugh out of the bike i ride.. i have no problems keeping up with them in the turns.. its the straight aways i loose them... I show them the upgrades i do the the bike, carbs, kn , kat wheel. but they just keep on poking fun . Today was great though..got a little respect for the gs..
went out of daytona up to ST. aug. and took a side trip through the loop. ( small wooded park with some nice turns on the way to I 95) rode the turns tighter and cleaner then most of them thanks to the lower gearing on the gs.. One guy ended up dumping But hes fine (little bit of road rash on the bike) he blames sand.. but it was just poor bike handling. Then took 95 to st augustine. only one riding a naked bike on the highway ( all geared up of course) They cant belive the bike can handle it..Just goes to show you what the little sucker can do in the right hands..
Put a 15 tooth front on and race them stoplight to stoplight (pick your block carefully). You'll get some respect.
And you can get your laughs back when y'all compare receipts and figure out the grin per dollar ratio you get with the good ol Gisser... Don't think I'll ever let mine go, even when I do break down and buy that SV I've been eyeing...
