Post by: spc on May 16, 2007, 09:12:46 AM
OK, I need a little help.  Anyone have an Idea of where to start with '01-'03 GSXR600 forks??

Thanks guys

Take front wheel off, removing axle.  There is a bolt in the bottom of the fork, straight up from the ground, probably allen.  Take that bolt out let the fork oil drain for a while, when done draining replace the bolt.

You can now put the front whell back on.

Adjust the preload of the fork so that it is all the way out, AKA not preloaded at all.  If possible remove all wight from the front forks,  This makes things much easier.

Take off the fork end caps and replace the fork oil and reinstall end cap, be careful not to strip the threads, probably just as easy to do as on the GS.

I gathered this from looking on this site: Bell Suzuki (http://www.bellssuzuki.com/fiche_section_detail.asp).  I also don't know how much oil needs to go back in or the viscosity.  For those two bits I would contact a local dealer, they should be able to look that up for you just get the fork oil from there.

If I am way wrong someone slap me.
