Title: Hi to everyone, new to GS
Post by: roosterbike on May 16, 2007, 06:44:46 PM
 :2guns:
Hi everyone, I just bought my first brand new bike, a 2007 GS500F. Ive had 500s and 550s in the past but felt this was the right bike for me.
Just had some questions I hoped maybe someone here could answer.
1. Is there an availible undertail kit?
2. Are the 2004-2007 F models the same with different paint?
3. Anyone know if white face gauges are availble for this bike.
4. Where can i find cool parts to make my GS stand out?
I know im asking alot but this bike is definatly worth the effort.
Also anyone else here near the WNC/Asheville area?

let me start by saying hello and congrats on the bike :thumb:. check this site out for mods and other things that can be done with you gs
(http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/) I have an 04 and have done a few things to the front and rear to make it look different than a stocker(intergrated turn signals rear fender ectomy painted the grab rail to make the bike added flush mounts up front and went with some clip-on bars) as far as an undertail, white face gauges im unsure someone else will chime in and comment.  got anypics of your bike

1. Not sure... my instinct is no, but there may be some small company that makes something
2. Yes
3. No, but I think someone has made their own
4. Not too many mods made for this bike... but universal fit accessories, parts from other bikes, imagination, and some shop skills can get you far. I'm sure a few people will chime in with their ideas, and it really depends on what you want to do.  Just ask(or search here) and someone will let you know if it's been done before

1.This is about the only thing I've seen as far as under tails go. http://www.freestreetdesign.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_84&products_id=163&osCsid=34cf8ecdb16183c9b550221f3993e2c3 (http://www.freestreetdesign.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_84&products_id=163&osCsid=34cf8ecdb16183c9b550221f3993e2c3) Most people just like to cut off their rear fender and get shorter signals.

2.Yes, the bike really hasn't changed much over its whole exsistance, except for the fairings being added.

3.I don't know

4.The wiki like Mach1 said and pablo's site http://pantablo500.tripod.com/ (http://pantablo500.tripod.com/)

Congrats on the new bike and enjoy it.    :thumb:

2 guns=twin cyliders to me. My little GS smoked an R1 at the dragons tail today. Dude couldnt keep up in the turns :flipoff:
Ok I got the black and silver, someone asked. Im starting my mods tommorrow. A buddy of mine in Florida, works with an race team, got me a free set of led tail lights and signals. What a pal.
It felt reall good on the GS, its been 2 years since ive had a bike. Everywhere I went today, Everyone, even old Harley guys stopped to tell me how nice my Gixxer was. You should have seen the looks on their faces when I told them what she was
Such a great bike.
