Title: gear rod spring
Post by: sezemy on May 17, 2007, 03:18:11 PM
hi there,

As per usual looking for some help

I replaced the gear selector rod, the spring that moves the gear selector lever back to the one position on the right hand side, i think, is not connected corrently however I cannot remember how it look before hand.  Should really take pictures before I do anything but another lesson learned.  I was wondering if someone knows how to connect it or has a picture of the right hand side of the engine without the cover on.  I tried searching for clutch replacement pics but to no avail.

If someone does have them it would be much appreciated.

No picture, but the key to installing the shift rod return spring is to be sure the two end prongs are parallel, not crossed.  They are held apart by a folded metal tab on the arm on the end of the shift rod.
