Title: anyone familiar with heirship bs?
Post by: makenzie71 on May 17, 2007, 07:41:53 PM
Got a lawyer working on it but he's slower than I am about getting things done...even slower to let me know that it's done...

Anyway...

Dad died with no will.  He left a few vehicles but that all got covered.  Big thing is the house and the property he owned.  i can't find the title to the house (mobile home) and I can't find a deed.  I'm going to need to sell both soon and the lady at the county tax office, who's supposed to know how this stuff works, basically says I'm screwed and she's not helping.

Dad had four sons...me, one's dead, one's signed off on having anything to do with inheritance, and the other I can't find or contact.

Anyone got any ideas?

Well, If there is any Deed it will/should be filed @ the local court house: thumb: As far as mobile homes I dunno.. Maybee check w/ the bank it was financed w/ in the begining?

I think that with a notarized or original copy of the death certificate, and the deed, you should be 1/2 way there. Is anyone declared an executor? or have power of attorney?

no executor...no poa.  I've been to the courthouse looking for a deed and they weren't able to hand over anything...been a couple years.  I'll call them up in the morning and inquire.
