Title: cobra F1S slip on
Post by: heatherg11 on May 17, 2007, 07:50:54 PM
got a good deal on a cobra F1S slip on.  it's for a katana 750 will it fit? I know I will probably have to get it welded, any suggestions as to what to use as a spacer or pipe?

ok, i know many people don't have the cobra, but someone has had to put this one on before. My understanding from the wiki that we could pretty much make "anything fit" and like i said i got this at an excellent deal. just want to know and be prepared to put this on when it comes. thanks

You only need 1 and only the right one. The left one is not going to fit at all, wrong bend in it. It does look like a fit from eyeball, but make sure you measure your pipe 100 times before cutting cos the wrong location of the cut means it wont fit. I guess you can cut it at the can and work backwards with a fresh 1 inch off the end and trial fit it till perfect.
Cool.

yeah, i knew i only needed the right one, plan on putting the left on ebay since no one around here will need it either.

Thanks, glad it will be an easy fit. I've got access to a welder, so that isn't a problem. Thanks a bunch.

that looks like what is on my bike.

personal i hate the way it sounds.

it is tinny and does not have much back pressure.

when you are done if you do put it on. post a video on youtube.com so we can hear it.

i am curious if it is what is on my bike.

easiest way to do this....
put muffy in a backpack
ride to a muffler shop
and ask them to cut off old muffy, bolt on the F-1 and make a transition pipe and weld it all together
