Title: interesting fuel problem
Post by: rangerbrown on May 17, 2007, 09:17:42 PM
ok so heres the deal, for the longest time i have been rining in prime to get fuel as a new petcock is 90$ at the dealer, so i thought well let me check the vac lines to see whats going on...

well found the problem, the vac line had gotten pinched and there was no vac, so now i get fuel at least when runing, and it also runs smoother (the diafram also had no vac)

but in any case i ran 260 miles on run and never ran out of gas till the tank was dry, i tryed swaping back and forth to res but still never ran out so it was like it was in prime the whole time...

so what now? i am ging to test the carb side of the line with the engien on and off and see whats going on

ok i think the problems fixed, i guess what i comes down to is i didn't give it enough time to run out of fuel on the res and go to run , so basicly when i put it back together i swaped lines lol so i guess i will see on my way to deals gap tomarrow

Have you pulled the petcock off the tank? I had a 78 GS750 that the fuel filter came loose from the petcock. It would show the same symptoms you describe.
