Everyone TALKS about getting together to ride. Everyone TALKS about wanting to go to Deal's Gap. Everyone TALKS alot. :cookoo: OK, now it's time to STOP TALKING. Lets go!

I know that there are some that can't go due to classes, and I know that vacations cost $, but c'mon...what could be better than touring around some excellent twisty mountain roads with the steady...umm...roar of our GS engines? Even those of you that have moved on to other bikes can come along! :thumb:
Make plans now! Don't wait until next year! Odds are good for some of us, unfortunately, that there may not be a next year. Don't put off the opportunity for fellowship and fun!
If you live anywhere east of the great Mississippi, you should try to attend. The Gap is central to all in that area. Of course west enders are invited too, but I know that it is a long drive for you guys, and gas isn't cheap. :2guns:
Do it, do it now! C'mon...DO IT!
P.S. Umm, will the mods temporarily sticky this, or at least, not move it to meet and greet? :icon_rolleyes:
Oh, and right now only Rangerbrown and I are confirmed to go...and last time he rode around with a pop bottle knee slider taped to his leg, and a vide camera duct taped to his helmet...
don't leave me alone with him!! :o
j/k ranger
I may be out for the count, but I wanted to ask where you were planning to stay? Campgrounds?
Last time I stayed in Robbinsville in a little motel called Phillips Motel. $35/night for a closet with a bed shoved in it.
If I can get my registration cleared up I may be able to make it.
Is this the part where Pandy moves this to meet and greet? Just kidding!
Me and Destro want to go, but it is time permitting. I will get with him, see when and if it can be done.
This belongs in Meet & Greet.... I'm going to move it and blame bubba this time. :flipoff: :icon_mrgreen:
Nah I just delete threads instead of moving them. :flipoff: :flipoff:

i'd be there, but the date sucks. Planning it that close to the fourth of July was bad for me. even if I didn't have plans, I don't want to be around Sevierville/Gatlinburg on a holiday weekend. so i'll shut up i guess :thumb:
I was told this weekend that if you go to the Gap on a weekend then you need to have your head examined.
It was fine in the morning and evening last time we went, and the Gap is not the only good road in that area!!! The Cherohala is a fantastic ride, as is the Foothills parkway, the roads in the Smokey Mountain National Park, etc.
In fact, as a group, we didn't even ride the gap last year. We did that on our own or in twos and threes.
Our group picture last year was taken on the Cherohala.
Bump...
I will be the squeeky wheel until this trip if I have to be...make plans and get there!
bumpity...
So, it's memorial day weekend, and it's been raining too much to ride , and I was thinkin', "Man it'll be fun to get to the Gap with a bunch of GStwin peeps. Some people are actually starting to commit...why don't YOU? That's right, get busy!!
Last year was a lot of fun. I'm going to try to make it depending on how my workload is with school and assuming I finally get another bike.

Hopefully we get to see you there again....bring friends!

lol
yea guys was there last year for the 4th and it wasnt all that bad,
i will be staying at the resort right there at wheely hell well because theres nothing like the roar of bikes at 7 in the morning to get you up
We'll be coming over from Gatlinburg Saturday morning. I doubt I'll be there early enough to run the gap before it gets busy, but we plan to hit some local roads.
28 would be nice at that time we will figure out a time to meet and were latter
Sounds good to me. I actually thought about a big loop that would take us east to Cherokee, then take the roads through Smokie Mountain Park (not fast roads, but they are great)! Then across foothills parkway to 129, then back down the dragon that afternoon.
Tis just a thought...we can work out details in coming weeks!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Bump...it's getting closer!!
I should be getting a new bike this weekend, so I'm still a maybe.

I'd go if it wasn't 800 miles away and expensive and my CX was 100%...actually I'd do it if I could just get two of those down.
