I have a list...

Rode it home 35 miles with the front tire at 15 PSI and the rear at 20 PSI.   :cookoo:
Missed nearly a whole day of work without actually calling in...   :icon_confused:
I went over redline it in Nuetral...
And I've gone 110 (ind) twice...  But, I think the speedo is pretty far off...  So, that's probably more like...  65 MPH.   ;)
And...  I've started it in gear and dropped the clutch, almost dropping the bike...... .TWICE.   :icon_rolleyes:

I'm deaf as hell...  I need some baffles for these damn straight pipes.   :o

   On my first ride with the GS I stalled at every single light except one, where I over-revved it and almost hit a car    Ehh posted redline gives you about 500-1k rpm safety net for short slips :icon_rolleyes:

I rode with a guy on a sporster last week and he told me we were doin 100 the whole time........I was like 'Dude I was in 5th at 4-5k rpms the whole time, no f%$king chance, MAYBE 70'

Man...  I gotta learn all about a new bike...  Someone finally pointed me at some baffles...  And I re-mapped the PC3, so it's less rich...  Hopefully it'll keep getting better MPG than it did when I first got it. :o  76 miles was 3 gallons...   :o  That's like car mileage.

Yeah...  It's only like 80 HP and 90 lbs or torque...  On a ~650 lbs bike...

But, it's damn fast and damn cool looking...  AND damn comfortable. :thumb:

That's a REALLY sharp ride!
Congratulations!

I'm going look at a new bike Saturday.
A dealership is talking me into a 07 Ninja 650r.  :dunno_white:
It's a REALLY good deal, about 800 below sticker and I think the financing will work. (ALWAYS worry about the financing part.)

Again, PRETTY bike.   :thumb:

Thanks!

Good luck on the financing...  I got hosed by it once...  The bank was closed and they sold the bike to someone else before the bank opened in the morning...  :icon_confused:

And yes... Thanks... I know I'm old.   :icon_confused:

Thankfully I can't afford a new bike for the moment otherwise I'd probably have a cruiser or something that has hard luggage as an option.  :icon_rolleyes:

I've even taken the clip-on's off my bike & put the standard bars back on.

I finally put baffles in it...  Still loud enough to set off car alarms, but much closer to a tollerable level.

I think the color was what convinced me to get that one.   :icon_mrgreen:

The day if u pandy it , wont be a good day , ive come close . but caught and held the bike , as its not very heavy . that meany tho  must weigh a ton :thumb:
Title: Re: My New Scoot... (Finally with actual pics)
Post by: jserio on July 22, 2007, 08:28:40 PM
the weight really isn't bad. i've sat on a few bikes that are listed to be 650lbs or more. fairly easy to pull up off the stand though. i'm not super strong, i think it's the physics. a cruiser sits lower. center of gravity is lower. you don't feel the weight as much. imagine if your GS weighed 650lbs?? it'd be a real pain to move around. am i right RV????

You're right jserio...  It's heavy as hell, but it's easy to keep upright...  Nowhere near as easy to push around in the garage though. :icon_confused:

I was backing it into my parking spot a few weeks ago and nearly Pandied it.   :o  I don't think I'd be able to pick it up, but the strength of my chicken-leg kept her upright.  :thumb:

...  And if I had a lawn, I'd be yelling at kids... You becha!
