Title: 60 odd MPG :)
Post by: zephler on May 21, 2007, 01:05:11 AM
well the dealer said they sell all their bikes with a full tank of fuel.... I just filled up to the bottom of the neck after 320km and put in 13.07 litres  which I believe (my maths may not be the best!)  is about 65mpg  :icon_mrgreen: not bad for a new bike during running in with all city work and a bit of walking pace riding also :icon_razz:

what do you guys use fuel wise? I put in 98 octance premium unleaded.....

I've gotten anywhere from roughly 30 mpg (with pod filters, rejetted richer than it should have been, and full exhaust at the track, so WOT every time I turned the throttle) to 65 (back when it was stock and I rode slowly everywhere.

I run the cheap stuff because it's no worse of quality than the "premium", it just ignites easier/faster.  I have an ignition advancer and it still doesn't ping, so why spend the extra money?

65 is pretty good, even for a stocky...   :thumb:

You must be skinny!   :flipoff:

320 km/1.6093=198.84 miles

13.07 liters/3.7854=3.45 gal

198.84/3.45=57.6 mpg

Not bad, I average about 60 mpg summers and 50-55 mpg winters here in NE Ohio.

I use 87 octane regular.  I weigh about 250# now.

250/2.2046=113.4 kg

I use the old math, never learned the new math.   :)

I don't do many long trips...  4.5 to work...  I get about 52 MPG...  And I'm 85 kg...  Well, that's what the scale in Mexico said anyway.

I am skinny, but tall.  Pulling the mirrors has to help, plus smaller turn-signals.

gsjack, you had me scratchin' my head here  :dunno_white: thinking how could I be so far out in the MPG :icon_rolleyes: until a mate told me that in Australia we use UK Gallon 4.54 litres per gallon against the US 3.7854.....  :icon_lol:

still good fuel economy no matter how you look at it  :icon_razz:

btw: yes I'm a bit of a stick 6'2 and about 180? pounds (81kg) I can see one of those zero gravity (probably the tourer) shields being ordered very soon..... the wind gets me right in the neck on the highway....
