That's way cool.I have a question here. Can you use the speedo and
does it connect to the stock cable?Where did you get the
adjustable fork caps,and the dash?
I am a curious one,and I have the cat for it to kill.
Errrm , I Have A Euro *UK* bike , thats the way it comes, basicly , i cut down my old clocks, and i i painted and took all this crap of them , got the acewell of ebay , it has a senser thats on my fork , and i epoxyed the magnet ,to the rim, *then smoothed it off* , then u enter the rim into the machine , and it gives u the speedo , the revs are on the Coil for the spark plugs , its fookin kool i like it ,
errrm , the forks are just out there holes a lil more i think , with clip on's *yours being the 89 , u should have them , altho i think your are under the yoke , mine are on top , errm , im sure i can help , just cant seem to guess what u wanna no lol
Jay

Hmmm...any chance those Euro spec preload adjustable fork caps could fit on a US spec Bike?
Yep, if you can get a brit to send em over.
BTW, jay, the dash is the dog's bollocks!
+1 on what NGFL said, that dash llooks cool. If only I could justify getting one. :icon_rolleyes:
Hey Jay does the Acewell wire in so it comes on just as it were stock? Does it have any other crazy features?
Errms, its got a clock on it , so you can see what the is , its got something that u set the Rpm , then at that RPM the Bar flashes telling You To Shift , Errm , It shows You RPM down to the 0001 , ITs got a stopwatch , odometer ,
Its Pretty Trick lol
Jay
Edit*. Theres A Sensor On The Front Fork , Then a Little Magnet is put on the rim , then you enter your wheel size, and there its done , i would imagine its very accurate

They were leaking really bad.Thanks. Ben
By the way do you have a paypal account?
Jay.... Last night I found a ton of those digital speedos today I can't find anything .... what did you use for a search term on ebay?
Acewell , or Digital Speedo was my search , did u check .co.uk?
or just .com?
Jay
.com....
Well , the other bloke found it on a .co.uk site , i dont think they seem to be in the old U s of A , i think its a brit thing , :thumb:
I was looking for a digital speedo and tach combo for a while. I was biddig on a Vaypor unit on ebay but it got too expensive for me. I looked briefly at the Acewell unit too but that seemed pretty expensive too. I finally found an inexpensive one though.
Trail tech makes a unit called the Vapor, and it Lists for $120 It's a Tach, Speedo, Odometer, Clock, temperature, etc here's a link to the features http://trailtech.net/vapor.html They're made for dirtbikes and quads but I called them up (tech number is on their website) and asked them about putting it on my bike (1995 CBR1000) and they told me which one to order. I just ordered it earlier today from ridenow.com for $107 shipped so I'll let you guys know how it is when I get it.
I ordered this for my CBR which is water cooled, but you can buy an adapter to have it measure your oil temperature or cylinder head temperature so that you can still use the full features on an air cooled bike.
Trail tech also sells some cheaper units that just measure your speed and distance.
I really hope this thing works for me, I'm going to be gone for the next week but I'll let you guys know how it works out when I get back and have a chance to install it.
Hmm, Just noticed that the Acewell is $120-$130 and includes some indicator lights. Have to pay an extra $40 for the lights and dash combo for the trail tech. :dunno_white: Oh well I had some Ideas in mind for a dash with some LED indicators and/or gauges (especially oil pressure)
I guess Once I set up my Vapor, I'll be able to compare it to Jay_wolf's Acewell.
By the way If you're having trouble finding a US distributor for the Acewell I just found one www.electrosport.com less expensive than I thought
You Have to remember im going by the British MOT Shite!! , Everything has to be E marked , Dot marked , The Acewell Is Fully Legal , The Vapor Mentioned For Off Road ,. It Could Be For Road Use, But I wanna See How These All Look , My GSX Is Coming Now!, Should Be Here In Half A Hour , Gonna Start Stripping it :P
yea but wil the hot sun light make the screen go black
No , It Looks Fine Already
that dash is gourgous, i love it  look even better once you got the front peice back on!
:)
yep yep , The spacers nice and level now lol :P
