Title: Vinyl Application
Post by: BobPro on May 24, 2007, 02:18:20 PM
Hey group,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with vinyl wrapping parts of their bike before. I was thinking about trying it on the tank and plastic of my GS500.

It looks pretty straight forward

How amazing would a carbon fiber gas tank and plastics look on the good old GS500? Sorry Pandy, they don't carry carbon fiber in Purple.  ;) I was just curious on whether anyone has worked with this stuff and how difficult it was.

i do this stuff for a living. it is easy once you get the hang of it. but it usually takes a while. try a couple small local sign shops. they can sell you the same stuff & can offer installation.

Me too!  It does take awhile to get the hang of it!  One crease or bubble (bubbles you can usually pop out) and the appearance is shot.  Like Mike said, if you've never done it before, call a sign shop and save yourself what could be a headache.

SIMULATED carbon fiber.

That means that it would look like crap and you would look like a tool. No offense.

Fake carbon fiber = rice

As an Asian person, I enjoy eating rice. But not riding or driving it.
