Title: DMV driving question
Post by: mach1 on May 24, 2007, 06:23:35 PM
So I went to the DMV today to go practice and was wondering how many circles do you have to do? Do you have to do a left hand turn or right or both? when doing the swerves do you start with a right or left sverve? what else do they make you do in california?

They let you practice? NY made it illegal for you to practice on road test routes...

When I took the MSF course they actually encouraged people to go to the DMV shen closed and practice on the test route in the parking lot, don't know if it is illegal here in VA though.

Road tests in NY are done on the road not in a parking lot. You have to bring a licensed motorcyclist with you. You ride your bike to the test site (usually a DMV branch or designated location like a townhall) and the other biker follows u in a car. Then they cart the DMV person around behind you and beep 1 time for left 2 times for right 3 times to pull over and stop.  :cookoo:

what can I say about New Yorkers....

We had to do a figure 8 loop type of thing with the weaving...so you got to both the left and right. If your worried about the weaving......you should take the MSF......weaving is easy...panic braking, braking around a curve and the wonderful U-box are the make/break deals
