I know it's a little late to ask but I bought a Kenda K671 150/70-17 tire from bikebandit.com and was wondering if there are any problems with it fitting stock gs? I heard you'd have to bend the brake torque bar so it would fit in one thread but pablo's page says a 150 tire will jst barely clear. Is anyone able to confirm either one of these? Thank you
My 140/60 barely clears the chaingaurd & that bracket , so I dunno ... it may physically fit , but if you don't have any clearances it'll rub when you ride :o
I put a 150/70 Lasertec on my GS and it had just enough clearance and went 10k miles without rubbing anything.
I then put a 150/70 Road Attack on to replace it and it just touched the brake torque rod, I ran it a while that way and then pulled off the brake rod and it was nicely marked where the tire touched it so I took my 40oz hammer and beat the brake rod on the inside on that mark and it flattened a bit and also bent a bit to give enough clearance for any 150/70 tire.
Very quick and easy to do, here's a pic of the bent brake rod with the Road Attack tire:

Neither 150/70 tire required any chain guard mods, plenty of clearance. Based on published dimensions, I think your K671 should fit OK without mods, if not then bend the brake rod a bit. :thumb:
I had a Kenda K671 140/70 17 and there was lots of clearance si I bet the 150 should work without any problems. If it rubs, you could just smack it with a hammer as described above or you could shave a tiny bit off the edge of the tire (you won't be able to lean it over that far anyways)
i'd suggest steering clear of kednas in the future though... unless you're just put-putting. but if you want to corner with any level of agressivness, kendas just can't handle it.
They're nothing special but I thought that they stick as well as or slightly better than the stock excedras. Super cheap and they last forever too. If it's hardcore cornering that you're looking for go somewhere else, but these tires definatly have their place and are a super value for stock replacement.

+1 I have them on my bike and it gets squirly in the corners when you try to push it. Im going with Demons as soon as I can!

I agree with this.I have the kendas also.130 rear/110 front.The 150 is to wide for the rim and want be stable in curves,at least thats what I'm told by other members.My bike doesn't feel solid when I try to lay it over in a curve.Actually,I slide around a curve yesterday when I pushed it.Scared the sh*t out of me.The posted spped was 25mph.I hit it at 30mph and almost went down.There wasn't any thing loose in the road and the asphalt was in good condition.Be careful on them.I wouldn't try to find the edge of the tire while riding.
