OEM Suzuki front rotor for GS500 can be bought online for $227 from Ron Ayers or $212 from Mr Cycles plus shipping, check the parts fiches:

EBC aftermarket front rotor is $186 from Chaparral:

those are good suggestions  - you can also bling it up if you're feeling it...

I get the feeling those are made of cheap metal that will rust like hell given the opportunity.  If you ride regularly the pads should keep the rust away for the most part, but might want to keep an eye on the carrier(? - center part)  I'm sure it would do it's job just fine though

edit: It could be all in my head though

Good point man, I put a EBC rear rotor on my 97 GS and it was good for a few years and many thousands of miles until the 97 became my winter bike and was left sitting most of the time soaked in salt water.  That EBC rotor rusted so bad that when I wanted to put the 97 wheel on my 02 for a while last winter I put the original OEM rotor back on it in place of the EBC.  It was hardly rusted, sometimes the more expensive choice can be the best.
