well the other day i was in a very big hurry to get in the house from school and take care of some business when i put the bike in neutral shut it off and put the kick stand down while moving and as soon as i stopped jumped off and ran inside. while i was rolling in the driveway i heard a horrible scrapping noise. after the business was good, i looked at my rear brakes because they absolutely sucked and i thought they might have needed to be replaced. they were pretty worn and stuff so i ordered a new disk and pads a few days ago and got them and put them in today.
it was pretty uneventful to say the least but, i did make one VERY interesting discovery. ill let the pics speak for themselves, they are of the old disk and pads.

I got my GS like that too... I think some people ride with their foot "covering" the rear brake. :icon_rolleyes:
man, i love old mustangs... almost got one for my first car but i ended up getting a 72 BMW 2002. kinda glad i never got one but i always wonder how much more fun i would have had with the HS autoclub race team. i never drove my car at the drags because it was a little 2.0 meant for the twisties, but i'da had fun running against the car i built in another car i built.
and i like to call those "lightened race pads" because the kids i taught to do brakes always thought their civics were race cars so i got to explain the different stages their brakes were going through. first the overheating and glazing. then the waaaaay overheating and color running. then the hey, little buddy, you aint got no brakes left. i told you to change them a long time ago.
Hahaha An... bluelespaulownd
Mine were worse than that though. The linings were completely gone and the backings were partially worn and even bent. Not all the previous owners fault though, I rode like that for quite a while without noticing it. In fact I didn't notice it until a guy I was riding with complained about the squealing from my bike somewhere in Canada on our way to Maine. I didn't touch the rear brake for the rest of the trip

No wonder people complain about the GS being down on power.
 Nice one.
i just wish i could have seen sparks shoot out from my back wheel, i thought that would have added a little to the 'cool' factor of the GS haha
