I have them.  Got them off ebay for 80 bucks, couldn't resist, and they are great.  If you have an F though you will have to either remove the fairings or push the forks up and mount them above the top triple.  If you do the above the trible you will also have to change the springs because if you leave the stock springs in the seals can mash into the lower triple ever so slightly.

I have never seen the woodcrafts in person.  I know that these are billet alluminum with aluminum bars.  I havn't had a problem with mine at all and the finish is good.  I have the silver ones.

Heres mine after install, above the triple.

You can remove the stock aluminum handlebar mount from the triple and you will gain some more room and not have to slide the forks up as much ...just make a template and get some aluminum sheet to cover the triple if you want...

I know that i could do that but i didn't feel like fabricating a plate to mount the guages too.  So I left the stock plate on top.  I plan on cutting a peice or bar to fit in there so I can mount a clock or something else to it, like gps if i ever get it.

....are they up to par with woodcrafts quality?

I have had several sets of Woodcrafts and Vortex over the years, with one of each on 2 of my 3 bikes now. The quality is basically the same. The older style 1-piece clamp Woodcrafts are my favorite over the newer 2-piece clamps. Not sure if Vortex are available in black like Woodcraft.
