Manjul,
I notice at the bottom of you posts you mention you have superbike bars on your bike. I was considering getting them for my bike, I'm not so sure I like the drag bars. Did you get them from AZ motorsports? Do you have any pics?

hey jake,
I totally forgot to post the pics. I will take some tommorow and post them.
The superbike bars are from Flanders Co (pasadena, ca) and cost me about 50 bucks.
Construction wise its actually a lot heavier and seems stronger than the stock bar. The bar from flanders does not come knurled (i didnt knurl mine but since the receving peices were knurled i just let that do teh gripping business.
Also you have to drill a 3/16th hole (6.5 inches from the ends) to put your equipment back in.

Either drill a hole or just shave off the nub with a razorblade like I did. If your unit is tight, and handle lubed, you shouldn't have to worry about slippage. (don't take that out of context, please..)
I got some new spiffy chrome bars that don't have those crappy endcaps on and are lower than stock after my roomate dropped my bike(the second time!, I have yet to drop it...) and they didn't have those holes, and i dind't have a drill. Haven't had any problems with unwanted movement yet.

There's an old dirtbiker trick to keep the handlebar cortrols just tight enough so that they don't rotate under normal usage. The reasoning is that if you go down the controls rotate on the bar instead of breaking. Another reason to cut off those locating nubs.

No Srinath does not... He might pretty soon and he has dirt bike bars on a virago 535 but not on a GS.

Yea the gold looks great. I'd pull the pillow bar off before putting it on the bike. It is just going to get in the way of everything. Putting the keys in to the view of the dash to your view of the road when you playing speed racer with your chin on the tank. That bar is there to put on a round cushion which will hurt less when the bars hit you in the chest on a dirt bike when you land after flying 30 feet...Never need it on the GS or virago.

the way I have the bars set up, it doesn't get in that way of anything.
plus it's not there just for the pillow bar. the aluminum bars, while thicker, are still not as strong. it's there to prevent bending. plus I think it looks cool. :P

I've never ridden the bike with the standard bar so I have no clue how it compares, but it doesn't seem to have any vibration at all. (the pillow bar probably helps with that as well.)
they have a "superbike" bend which is fairly popular and seems to work well. lower than standard, but not too low. plus they are a little widder than a standard road bike bar which I like. and they look cool.
