I bought a crg bar end mirror that clamps right around the end of your handle bar or over your bar end. It came with some internal adaptor, but said mounting on the bar was the best way. The mirror is pretty pricy, but I bought it here from a member for $40.

at the end of this thread, there's a link to the mirrors I ended up going with.  CRG knock offs and comes with the clamp for the bar.  you need about 1/2 inch to move the gear up the bar.

a little earlier in the same thread is a link to pics with 89 clipons with the mirrors on.

I have some big fat bar ends... I guess factory... will they fit over them?

if the bar ends themselves are thicker then 7/8, then the barend mirrors won't fit on the barend itself.  but if you have room to move your gear and grip up about 1/2 inch or so, you can clamp them to the bar itself, and still keep the barend weight.  that's how mine are setup, although my tubes aren't factory.  I cut new tubes myself and left a little extra length just for this setup (mirrors + barend weights).  I never did try with the stock tubes, but maybe there's room?
