To quote Bo Diddly in Trading Places:
"Burnt my fingers"
I emailed about it for fun. You never know when you might get lucky helping a scorned ex-wife dispose of some of the ex's possessions quickly :)

I heard about just such a case once... cheated on wifey sold her husbands lotus elise (!!!!!!) for something like a thousand bucks on ebay....
while that sounds awesomes, If she isnt on the title, its in essence theft and the person who buys it can get possession of stolen property charges against them. Makes a neat story though

Hello, I'm Sgt.Daniel Fox. The Ducati is in perfect working condition.VIN Number: zdmisb5v34b0227
I signed up for US military forces and I was sent here with my department to improve the military relations between our country and UK. I am located in London, United Kingdom.1 months ago, my wife moved here, with me and brought the bike with her, but now we have to sell it back in the United States. We can't drive it because we can't register it here; it has US specs and everything, and registering it here in Europe will take for ever. My final price on it is US 2.850 $.So if you decide on buying the bike, I want the deal closed only through eBay's Safe Purchase program. You will make the payment to eBay and they will hold the money until you receive the bike. ONLY AFTER you receive it and you inspect it, eBay will release the payment to me, in this way we are both protected. If you will take it for this price, I am willing to handle the shipping .It will be shipped from here by plane with US Air Military Cargo so it will not cost me anything. You will get it to the nearest airport in your area and then it will be trucked forward to your place. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction, payment and shipping details from them.
Cheers,
Sgt. Daniel Fox

Yeah, scam city baby.
Odd, four years in the Army and I've always specified my branch when addressing myself formally by rank :icon_rolleyes: I don't recall any issues with UK relations either. :icon_rolleyes:
What a dork.

Indeed. I kinda like to respond to these guys and mess with them. yeah, clearly the inconvenience of being in the middle east and not being able to register your bike would make you want to sell it to someone back in the US for 1/4 the value. But it's ok, he's going to use the 'eBay Safe Purchase program'. That's a relief!
Those nigerians are fun to mess with too :)
Keep us updated if you do mess with him lol ... I can't find the link right now , but there's a site i go to occasionally (411eater or something like that) where they go out of their way to screw with the scammers ... if nothing else they make them spend a ton of money making money orders hehe
