Title: Any good motorcycle repair shops in South FL?
Post by: Y2K6GS500F on June 09, 2007, 04:26:29 PM
Hi Everyone,

I'd like to bring my bike into the shop for a Valve Adjustment and to have my new tires installed. I recently got the bike with about 10,000 miles on it. But, I'm not sure if the previous owner ever had the valves adjusted.

Can anyone recommend a good motorcycle repair shop in South FL? Preferably the Palm Beach area. I'd consider a Dealer, but the last one I went to seemed to not know much about the GS500.  :cookoo:  Who knows, maybe I was just talking with the wrong person.

I'd usually do this sort of thing myself -especially after seeing Kerry's excellent video on valve adjustments.  But, unfortunately I'm swamped with things to do around the house and recently the wife gave me dirty looks when I installed my fork springs, instead of fixing the water heater.   :icon_razz:

So, anyone have any recommendations on shops in the area?

Are plumbers cheaper than stealerships ?
Honest question, likely they are and you can keep wrenching on the GS as a 'comprimise'.

I've got a bunch of other projects that need to be finished around the house, and I got quoted $850 to have a plumber install a new water heater.  :o    I figured I'd do the water heater myself, and have someone to adjust the valves, while the bike is at the shop for tires anyway.

So, no one can recommend an honest, competent repair shop in Palm Beach county?
