oopsie i crashed :(
i never ride without my gear, helmet, jacket, gloves and strong jean type pants. it payed off today. i was just coming home from a ride and decided to stop for gas. as i was going into the gas station, on the front brake, there was some sand. i did not have time to switch from front to back brake so the front end went out on me. as i was falling my helmet hit the pavement and i remember smiling as it happened because i was thinking "ha i beat that one". my pants held up but my icon gloves gave way on the right pinkie. so i have a cut across my right pinkie, some minor rash on my right knee and my right ankle was twisted and is a bit sore. Yoshi came out with a broken case cover and the pipe came apart at the clamp, neither is a big deal at all.
so to everyone reading this, had i been like many bikers around here who go out in t-shirt jeans and no helmet things would have been different. i would most likely have a big black eye and a cut over my right brow that would definitely needed stitches. also the rash would have been a lot worse.
please wear your gear, i am happy i do :)

Glad you survived. Hope you feel better.
darned ankle is swelling up. i will get pic of it when i can
Glad it was minor, and glad you were geared up and are ok.....a new helmet's probably in order.....
If you have an ace bandage, wrap that ankle snugly. Support feels sooo much better on a sprain.... Feel better fast, and post pics when ya' can. :kiss3:
yeah, glad it was a low speed crash. RICE-rest, ice, compression, and elevation. that's the best thing for a sprain. Take care and heal fast.
Glad you are OK.
Yes, Please everyone wear your gear.
A coworker of mine came to work a couple of days ago, no gear.
He hit some gravel on the road.
Now he is in intensive care. Broken neck, lacerations on his brain, Plus multiple damage to his body.

:thumb: :thumb: I learned the value of gear that way too :thumb: friggin helmet took a serious beating. of course witnesses said I flipped twice :o :o :o
sucks dude! Recover quick!
Seems like gas stations are a magnet for oopsies. gas, sand, and other slipperies make it a nice place to pay extra attention.
Glad to hear you're doing well aside the swollen ankle.
Nothing like new gear to make it feel better too !
new helmet is on the way, and i am going to throw out those cheap arse icon gloves for my CF gloves. btw after careful review it was my visor that took the brunt of the impact and remained intact...kind of impressive if you saw me do my olympic style dismount
