Post by: blue05twin on June 12, 2007, 08:48:53 AM
Got a 99 convert time to freshen up the paint, figured I'd change the body work while I'm at it. . out of these two which one do you think looks better?

+2 Top hood

Check build quality on booth, a good hood should have metal mounting pionts for the stock locations. with out the metal they will brake over time. have you seen Ground Design's "Black Widow" kit for that car?

This is what is currently on my car.  Yeah I know it needs to be washed real bad.  We actually had rain the past two days so tonight after work I'll be washing  / waxing.

none of them.  In fact, I'd get something that doesn't have a scoop.  The hood scoop on the mustang is so ghetto lame.  get a slick top carbon piece and paint it to match the car...or get one off an SVT Cobra...or a Cobra R knock-off.

Everyone one knows you don't have ram-air, everyone knows you don't have a top mount intercooler, everyone knows that scoop isn't going anywhere but nowhere.  Scoops are lame if they're not functional.

I see you already know Black Widow they make good stuff. I was trying to find a pic of the first Black Widow hood for the Mustang it was tuff. If you are looking for something to cool the engine better get something with the vent faceing the window this creates a vacume and pulls heat off the engine better.

I you are just going for style, I found a page you might have already seen but here it is

I like the Stalker the best!

meh...i just think the ghetto hood emblem, the little bitty wheels and tires, and the hood scoop need to go.

The body kit has to stay!!! I wouldn't drive the car without it. The wheels do look to small though, +1 on the emblem. How is a knockoff SVT hood not ghetto, stock looks to soft for the body lines.

Thats a 99 Cobra the hood OEM hood did look nice till they made it original equipment on the 03+ V6's and V8's.   Sorry but that killed the hood for me.

Umm just for the record that 2nd hood is the 2000 R Hood that you said I should get but don't like

Wheels are 17" X 9" I don't want 18" wheels because I got through tires very fast.  I messed up when I ordered the tire size, I should have ordered 255 45 17 but I ordered 255 40 17's.  Oh well these won't last longer than a year anyway so I'll get the new tires later.  But keeping the wheels.

My plans are to get a stock 99 front bumper to me they look the best.  I already got the 03 cobra rear bumper.  and remove the side skirts.  Plus the hood I'll probally get that first one manily because almost everyone here has the 2000 R already.

Once body work is done will be re-doing the interrior next.  Tired of the tan. . thinking grey / black.
