Title: F2 rearset application
Post by: Reknelb on July 27, 2003, 03:08:34 PM
I just got done mounting the brake side F2 rearset on the gs. Just thought I would let everyone know that the rear brake master cylinder holes do not line up with the F2 bracket. Pablo's site says the holes line up perfectly on a set of 95 cbr brackets. I thought that the f2 brackets were the same as f3 brackets which would cover the years from 92-98? Maybe I was wrong.
I'm not trying to bash pablo or anything, I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who was thinking of doing the mod. It could still line up if I slotted one or both the holes on the bracket itself but I don't have a dremel that small or a round file that small. I'm just going to mount the master at one hole and safety wire it. I dont use the back brake on the track anyway ( unless I go offroading   )

careful.  you might get  a :nono: when you try to go thru Tech with that.

Find an F2 MC they shouldn't cost too much.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think the f2 and f3 brackets are supposed to be the same for those years. Although the 600 and 900 versions are different. Again, I'm not sure. Also, I haven't done this mod so the info is only as good as the source-a gstwin member that had done it.

I have a set of '95 cbr900 rearsets I had been planning to install but haven't really gotten around to it and may ditch the project (don't really need rearsets, I realized) but I thought I had lined the holes of the m/c up and they did fit. I'll check again. Its possible they needed a little slotting too but can't remember.

Sorry if the info wasn't as accurate as you expected.

I'm just gonna drill an oversize hole through the existing hole, that should give it enough room to fit the second bolt.
