i orderred mains and pilots
whats a "mid"
do i need it?

yes you need a mid. Im sure you read about people buyin just two jets and shimming the needle but our year bikes have 3 jets a pilot a mid and a main. If im not mistaken someone told me the mids come into play when your cruising a low speed and the main work when your going faster or when gunning it from a stop. but I may be wrong

For your '06, yes... and the jetting may be different than the earlier bikes.

In 01, the carbs changed to a 3-jet setup. There are tables in the Wiki: http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/Rejetting

oo so wats the stock mid at?
wat will happen if i change the pilot and main but not the mid
cause i cant seem to find any to purchase
