Title: As is everyone else, but does anyone have a link to a timing advancer from VandH
Post by: bombadillo on June 16, 2007, 10:41:12 PM
I am trying to get an advancer from vance and hines and a vance exhaust kit.  I will do a rejet when its running good and lean.  Anybody have any idea where to get one thats from vance and not from bob.

They don't make it any more... So, you'll have to find a NOS or a used one.   :dunno_white:  Try contacting them directly (for old stock), looking on ebay, and looking around here (though, I doubt you'll find one here).

just drill a hole next to the old one and file through. thats all i did, now i can advance  my timing as much as i want.
drill the holes to the right of the originals so you can twist the generator coils backwards causing the timing to be advanced :D
he's a pic

depending on what year your bike is, you can take the rotor off, and mail it to a member on here named Bob that machines it for free...  we like to donate some money to him though ;)

Here's the link to the DIY ignition advance.

Here is Bobs email to get your stock rotor modified.
Pleas send him at least $20.He has to weld the factory
slot and machine a new slot.Take a couple hours to
complete.Bob is located in California.

I've heard he does them fast , but i'm waiting to find another one to send him so my bike isn't down for long hehe .

If anyone has an old one to fit my '96 , i'll buy it - BikeBandit wants over 100 bucks for one  :o

BTW - in my eBay wanderings , i've found "signal generators (non GS though) ... they're the same thing , correct ?

He does them fast, no, and no...

That is, you must be looking at the wrong part. Ron Ayers has it specifically for your '96 listed at $47.71. It's part number "4" in the diagram below.

Part number 33120-01D00 is the "standard" US spec, part number 33120-01D10 is the "California emissions" version, which became standard for all US bikes for the 2001 and 2002 model years. If you're going to send it to Bob it doesn't matter which one he gets, he's going to re-do it anyway.

I have all three, I've had all thee installed, you can feel the difference in each, I'm quite pleased with Bob's.
