Title: Srinath Flange info
Post by: The Buddha on June 17, 2007, 09:08:33 AM
This is what I have so far.
I have been collecting GSXR stock cans and midpipes over the last few months.
I only have 5 rights (lefts aren't useable really I think) but I can buy more once the project starts getting together, and so far it looks like I have to make them weld on.
The cans aren't adjustable for length to hanger bracket (which evidently is vital) and there fore I dont have the flexibility to hang them where ever unlike the wileyco.
It looks like the best option is to cut it at the large part of the flare and hand fit it and weld it up.
I'd start on this ASAP after I get the bike assembled in a few days.
I can do it cheaper ($60 whole thing as opposed to much much more with the wiley co flange combo) Its about the same weight as wileyco, probably flows equal to it when cored, less when not cored ... but sufficient for our purpose without being too loud.
I'd know all that and pics and seat of the pants when I have it all together.
Just be patient. I am doing bikes full time (being unemployed and all) but I am still at the mercy of everyone I have to deal with as well as space time (AKA - parts from chicago will take 4 days to arrive - like my swingarm bushings) ... be patient. Its all comming. Handlebars too ... please be patient.
It will fit right, look right and work right ... Just have to get it done ...
Ofcourse - It will take a slip on from the GSXR 3 bolt series if you wanted that ... but you knew that.
Cool.
Srinath.
