OK 37.5 bleed style pilot jets, 2.5 turns on mix screw, stock air box and clean paper filter and full yosh system. The bike runs quite well. Haven't run it up higher up in the rpms yet but 125 mains and no washers under needle should leave plenty of choice to move up if needed. The slides are also stock and the bike didn't seem to need 1 hole blocked or anything. This was just a preliminary start and run sequence. The real jetting fine tuning should be done in the coldest day possible. So in the ice storm of 03 I was jetting my virago and I guess in 04 it will be the GS.
Cool.

So if I can only find the bleeder-type pilot jets I should invest in a Yosh pipe?! Cool! Sweet! I'm lookin' forward to my next crash so I have an excuse to buy a Yosh pipe! Just kidding. :bs:
Ok fine in the spirit of things...maybe. The larger diameter headers probably reduce back pressure a bit more than the stock headers...and that may work fine wiht the richer pilots. Ha ha ha...Well dont get confused by this guys I am pulling Scratch's leg...or is that scratching his funny bone...
Higher flow from the fill system is nearly all at the top 1/2 of the rev range. Low down it makes little diff. I haven't tested the top end so no idea. Also I have it set to 2.5 turns out on mix screw. I was worried it will be a bit richer than 40's which I typically try 3 to start with. I dont think its much richer than 40's but see its 37.5 bleeds not 40"s. I had 37.5 bleeds lying about - which I pulled off someone's carbs a few years ago. Didn't want to buy anything. This bike started and ran like a champ with 37.5's too so I am not surprised it runs with good bleeds. In short it runs with bleed and non bleeds the same way. I have to test it quite extensively, maybe use my dyno run coupon and dyno it and maybe fit an o2 sensor on it and test it on the road. However its my first experience with a bleed type pilot and Its been fine so far.
Cool.

Well I dont know if you already know this but I am running 40's bleed and it runs fine. I cant tell if its too rich or Lean but it seems just right to me. 40's Bleed, 2.5turns,125. all else stock.
I remember that...However I wanted to try it myself. Too many people have posted saying its bad to run bleed ones...I am running 37.5 cos well I know this bike ran good with 37.5 non bleed (stock jets) and stock everythign in the carbs except the mix screw. Paper filter and Yosh full pipe. I also think the paper filter has some to do with that. It is very very tight compared to everything else.
Cool.
