I went to get my pins out today. First one came out smooth as butter, didn't even hurt. Didn't feel good, but didn't hurt :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: The second one he yanked on with pliers for 20 minutes until I was having breathing difficulty from the pain :o :o :o S I have to get it removed in the OR tuesday    He said it's not a big deal, worst case they drill another hole right next to the pin to give it room tio move :o :o Best case they'll be able to yank it out :o :o :o Either way I'll be under anesthesia so whatever.
Now the really bad ( the above sucks but I can get over it, hell it didn't really surprise me) :
2 months til I can bounce again :o :o :o
4-5 before I can re-enlist because of the physical profile of my MOS
The semi-good:
He said 1 month and I can ride again, I just have to promise not to get hit by any trucks
could be worse man, still sucks. Heal up man
I popped 4 percocets when i got home....still hurts :o :o :o
frickin ouch :icon_confused: anything that involves any part of me and any part of a drill :o eeh... bring on the gas! hope all goes well for yah!
yeah, it hurt like hell when he was yanking on the pin with pliers without it budging :o :o :o :o It's percocet time again :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:

One of my friends just went through something similar... he had foot surgery and I remember him talking about how much it hurt when they had to litearlly YANK the pins out... :o
the first one didn't hurt at all :dunno_white: :dunno_white: but the second just didn't want to come out :icon_confused: :icon_confused: ohh well they'll get it out in the OR then I'll have my hand back :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
haha percocet sucks. percocet, to me, was like chewing gum to solve a math problem. vicodin is where it's at.
It does decent for me usually.....it's not cuttin it right now. i might have to go back and try to weasel a vicodin scrip outta the doc. thankfully his office is only a quarter mile away..........hmmmmm.....maybe some IV morphine :o :o :icon_rolleyes:
you get used to percocet too quickly.
I will say that no pain killers really "kill my pain". Vicodin, though, makes me not care.
Toridol- it's synthetic and non addictive. They use it in the ER when someone doesn't respond to morphine.....like me. Morphine works but not that well
Ouchhhhhhh......I wish more doctors believed in EMLA cream (fortunately, mine does!....but then, I don't have to be manly...I can scream and writhe in pain if necessary)..... Glad they're putting you to sleep, dude!!
......to get the screw out, silly!!!!! :icon_mrgreen: :kiss3:
P.S. EMLA cream = topical anesth. that goes pretty deep if you leave it on for an hour!
I've heard of it.......Doc said it doesn't work well for deep muscle or bone pain  this thing looks so nasty sticking out of the side of my thumb and there was blood everywhere :o :o :o
I wouldn't have been able to watch...I think they'd have had to put me to sleep before they came within 10 feet of me.... :o
toridol sucks, too. When I got all burned up they gave me $500 worth of toridol to start with and when it didn't work they told me "just give it 45 minutes and see if there's a change".
I hate my doctor...
??? ??? ???
I have to keep it bandaged, not out of medical neccessity but because the sigh makes me sick :o
I didn't watch, it's never a cmforting feeling to see your doctor yanking things out of your body with regular ass pliers :o :o :o
at least it's something you know isn't supposed to be in your body. I've seen the majoraty of the bones in both my hands and quite a few others. I've had more superglue enter my system than any other foreign object...and I've been stabbed/gouged/cut/etc more times than I can count.

All I know about king crab fishing is it looks like a lot of work.
Don't you do something cattle related mak?
Yeah we can't tell you what he does to cattle, but mak & an have something in common ;)
Mak is Captain sig of the Northwestern :thumb: (sorry if you don't watch "The Deadliest Catch" ... but if ya don't , ya should ! )

Uh nope not buying it, Sig and Edgar live in Seattle. I do watch Deadliest Catch :flipoff:
I'm not sure they live there (hell , maybe they do) , I think that may have just been the location of the bar they shot the series at ... all the Captains were there , and a lot of those dudes are from all over the US (I think one is from Texas even ... Cap'n Mak! )
BTW - I just picked Sig 'cause he's the coolest of the Captains . Though I like Phil's brand of humor ... and that Jonathan dude is cool after he rescued that dude that fell in the water .... what was this thread about again ??? :icon_mrgreen:
Ahhh but if you watched it religiously you would know that Sig and Edgar do make Seattle their home. I know Jonathons brother Andy lives in Indiana, ok he has a horse ranch there at any rate.
Eh , i own my company so sometimes I miss pieces here and there 'cause of work . There's not much of anything I do "religiously" ... never was no durn good with Church learnin' :icon_mrgreen:
