I've got a deposit down on a 2006 GS500 F and am wondering if there are any common issues that I should be aware of? The bike looks great and only has 1100 miles on it. Just wanted to make sure I cover all bases.
Thanks
Mike
The title says 96 , but its a 06 ,
im pretty sure it would be all good , all bikes break at somepoint ,
If the previous owner did his own oil changes, make sure all the bolts are on the oil filter cover. And, make sure he didn't overtorque them (I don't know how you'd do this).
Check the condition of the chain.
Tire pressures.
Color of brake fluid (both front and rear).
Maybe the airfilter? (bike's pretty new...)
:cookoo:
Sorry, it is a 2006. I have been looking at older bikes until this one came along.

Please explain...? I don't get it... You've seen the colour change?

You can see an overtorqued bolt by setting another bolt with the same thread next to it and trying to fit the threads together. An overtorqued bolt will have the threads moved slightly out of place and you won't be able to get them to mesh properly.

It's clear when it's nice, and dark when it's yucky.
for the record... all brake fluid should be considered yucky!
