ace only went down to 4's
Ummmm 4's are what you need
Sigh.
You don't want #3 washers, you want M3 or 3 mm washers (metric).
As I understand it, the #4 washers worked Ok in the older carbs. From 2004 on, there's much less room, and SOME #4 washers might work, and some won't. The M3 washers work with everything, they match the stock spacers.
They aren't in your typical home store, you might have better luck at a real hardware store with a big fastener selection. Some of the "Ace" hardware stores now have a bin labeled "miniature machine screws (metric)", that has them.
If you like, and you have time to wait for the mail, just PM me your address and I'll send you some in stainless steel.
yeh i got the smallest 4s they had and they were to big my ace is pretty small...
so there called m3's ok well ill go to home dept and lowes today and see if they have them

They won't be in Home Depot or Lowe's.
I had to get a replacement bolt for my clutch adjuster to get home a while back ... Autozone had a decent supply of metric bolts and stuff , maybe they have washers too ?

Who knows... but I doubt it. These are really tiny, the whole thing is MAYBE a quarter-inch in diameter.
Again, if anyone's stuck for them, just send me pm and I'll send a half-dozen in stainless. You probably shouldn't use more than two per needle, but on the other hand, they're easy to lose...
Well i have the older carbs , so the #4 washers should work for me right ?

So I'm told. The older carbs had a much simpler arrangement at the inside bottom of the slide, the same spring that holds the slide down holds the needle down in place. The newer carbs are much different there.
However, I still think the M3/3mm is a more "proper" fit, it matches the diameter of the stock spacers, instead of flopping around on the needle.

They didn't for me... just depends on the OD of the washers you get
M3 worked just fine though
Well alrighty then ... i don't wanna mess with the carbs more times than necessary , so i'll shoot ya another fiver over at the same paypal account Wrecent if that's cool ?
Nope. I haven't charged anyone else for washers, that would hardly be fair for you, and they didn't cost me anything NEAR that anyway... they're like pennies apiece retail, and I bought a lot so they were even cheaper.. and they weigh nothing to ship, I'll just put them in an envelope.
No charge, and I have your address.
