Title: New here
Post by: shinanigins on June 25, 2007, 09:05:21 AM
just picked up a 2000 GS500 a few weeks ago and was wondering what all modifications all available, what are the most common, easiest, etc...

bike has progressive front forks and a K&N filter, but thats the only modifications to it.

I will probably do the fenderectomy but I was really looking more for performance type stuff.

Thanks

Uh... nope. No way that seat is stock. I wish it fit mine, I'd offer to buy it off of you...

Welcome
Advance timing, exhuast, low gearing, GSXR-KAT rear wheel swap, and more suspension work. Then just make it look better and ride. The GS is very fun and a perfect plateform for a custom but it's no racer.

Welcome!  Bike looks great!  Even with that Suzuki Gel seat!  :thumb:  I'd buy that seat off of ya, too.

Yay Suzuki Gel seat!  The only thing that sucks about them is the suck in water at the seams when it rains, then get your pants wet for the next week of riding

For a little more performance, do what Crucialval said... wider rear wheel isn't necessary, but it looks good with a little bigger rubber out back.  Don't forget to rejet when you add a freer flowing exhaust

If you want performance, get an after market exhaust and rejet.

And yeah, that seat is NICE.  I'm now torn between that and a corbin.

Welcome !

Just ride it man, it's looking good enough.

Oh, if you really want some noise change the exhaust and re-jet.

yeah, i am thinking about doing the fenderectomy, possibly the reflectorectomy, bringing in or changing the front and rear turn signals, maybe a new taillight and possibly down the road a new exhaust , but that will be over so time m

yeah the seat is nice  :thumb:
