Title: quick ignition question
Post by: chevysolid on July 29, 2003, 10:59:07 AM
i'm still trying to get an ignition that was jimmied when someone tried to steal my bike.

the one at dennis kirk won't been for a while and my local dealer can get one (aftermarket Emigo) but it says 89-92 and 01 doesn't say 97
would one of those work???  i thought it would, b/c the mechanics of the bike are relitivly unchanged
any suggestions do you think one of those would work??
thanks for the input

The EMGO switch in my Dennis Kirk catalog says that it fits "GS500E 89-97".  The DK part number is 20-0731.  If you can ascertain that the dealer has the same part, I would say "go for it".

The DK catalog also lists a K&L replacement ignition switch for "GS500E 89-97".  Its part number is 20-0271.

The K&L costs $56.99, the EMGO "only" $37.99.
