Title: I've got some sad news.
Post by: annguyen1981 on June 28, 2007, 05:36:35 PM
I'm down $100 today...  I put a deposit on a newly arrived 2007 R6s!!!!  WOOT!!!

It hasn't even been taken out of the crate yet.

I called a dealer (Popolis - I had NOOOO intention of buying from...  they're asses there) and told them that another dealer (Baer's Cycle) was gonna sell me the same bike for $8000 out the door...

The sales guy WOULD NOT give me a price until I told him the price *I* was willing to buy...  So at that point, I was ticked, but I told him I'd like to buy for $7500 OTD because Baer's offered $8000.

Took him 5 minutes to get back to us, and he was able to drop to $7800 OTD.

I WAS SHOCKED!!!

I really didn't expect to hear a cheaper price.

Anyway...  I called the last dealer (Valley Motor Sports) and talked to the guy that sold me my GS and my dad his VStar1100...  He checks his paperwork, and says, "Sure, we can sell it to ya for $7800 OTD."

I immediately drove up there and put down the $100 as a deposit.  He's gonna keep it crated until I get my insurance check.  Then I'll give him a call, and a day later, I own a whole R6s with ZERO miles.

MY FIRST BRAND NEW VEHICLE!!!

WOO HOO!!!!!

I've been trying to get the damn adjuster from the Total Loss Department to fax me the bill of sale so I can transfer ownership to the insurance company.

Hopefully, I can buy the bike next week, and work on the damn break-in period.

I forgot about that...  It's gonna be TORTURE!!!  ugh.

Sorry, after I dropped out, Georgia Tech suddenly decided that they didn't want to host my stuff anymore.. I've just been too busy/lazy to create a photobucket account.

Edited to add:

That's what you get for not reading.

Out the crate it will have 0 miles.

Once the dealer puts the bike together THEN test rides it will have about 10 or so miles.  Still grats An

Hey you didn't say what color you got.

Break in period should only last 1 day or so.  Took me two days to break in my 750 did a little over 400 miles the day I got it then the next day did another 300  :icon_mrgreen:

Na...

I work at a dealer, there is no test ride for new bikes. Ours are only ridden because they come accross the parking lot from the warehouse. most of the bikes on our floor have .1-.2 miles on em  :thumb:

I have to be good for something. My faux pas was either comic relief or insulting. If it was the latter then I apologize.

Who knew, I actually did assume it was Heath :dunno_white: Does that make me chauvanist?

My new SVS had 0.2 on the odometer.  Was built the week before I bought it.  My registration says 1 because they round up :)
