Can anybody please tell me where the idle fuel/air mixture screw is on the GS 500 ?

As the carbs come from the factory (at least in the US) there is a thinnish brass plug pressed into the "turret" over the screw head to keep citizens of the Land of the Free from messing with it. If that's in place, you'll have to take the carbs out and carefully drill a hole in the plug to remove it.
