Hello everyone! Recently I burned out my clutch, well at least I think I did. Here's the situation,
My front brakes locked up (whole other problem), and I tried to break them free by reving my engine up while in first gear, however all I ended up doing is burning out my friction plates and steel plates (at least that's what I think happened). Last week I was at the point where when I put the bike in first gear, it wouldn't do anything. So this past weekend I took apart the bike and pulled off the friction plates and steel plates, and then reordered them so that the ones that were burned are where the ones that weren't burned are. (It was a shot in the dark) Now, when I put it into gear I am able to move the bike but I have to rev it up real high and it doesn't go anywhere fast, in fact I couldn't get enough power to go up a small hill.
Here's my question, do I go ahead and order new friction plates and steel plates, or can I adjust the clutch some how? The current state of the plates are there are about 2 friction plates that are burned smooth, and a couple of charred steel plates. And if I need to get new plates, where would you recommend buying them?
