Title: new bike?
Post by: frankieG on June 30, 2007, 11:48:56 AM
there has been a 2006 gs500F sitting at my friends place since the young fella crashed it last year.  it has 198 miles on it but the kid can not afford to replace the forks , wheel etc and damage.  so i think i will buy it off him, he only wants 1000 bucks and i will use yoshi for the parts

i just talked to him, he wants 1200 cash for it.  it need front forks, wheel tire, brakes etc all for the front end.   it is a 2005 with 198 miles on it, the blue and white f model.  i am probably going to buy it and make it like yoshi, black naked, with the yosh system and clip ons from yoshi.

Personally , id sell the 89 , buy a Gsx front end , or even a whole wreaked bike , like i had to , and put it on the 05 ,. and make it a beast

Seems awfully high for a wrecked GS, of any year.

i guess i should have said "damaged"  the front wheel  and forks are wrecked,  the plastic is rashed and cracked.  everything else is like a 198 mile bike should be

Ummm all years GSXR and GSX will require modification.   But it's not a huge deal.  If you get a GSX front end you can reuse the GS wheel and get some spacers from Dgyver.  That is probably the cheapest and easiest way to put dual discs on the GS :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

True, but cheaper than a GSXR front and having to have a stem machined down :icon_confused: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    Katana makes the most sense by far :thumb:

the swop is almost complete and all i can say is WOW.  i have a brand new bike with 150 miles on her.  after sitting for a year she started right up.  the clipons and forks are on her now Yoshi 2 i guess i will call her.  tomorrow when there is more light i will finish it up by adding the front wheel, raptor shifter and the yosh pipe and that's it done.  for a thousand bucks and a few parts from my 89 i have a brand new bike :)  oh did i say it has 150 miles on her?   not to worry i will have pictures up tomorrow.  this is one happy puppy.
