G'DAY guys, im getting a lean spot between 5 & 6.3k but only at night, day time its prob still there but i can't feel it. The temp by day is 63 ish & night is 46f my jets are 20 , 62.5 , 137 with float hight 2mm above gasket & needle is 4th down , air is by k&n dropin with stock exhast. So i was going to put in a 65 mid jet, would this be going to far for a mid jet.
you could try it , just see what it dose. BTW do you allways talk to yourself .
Everyone's been in enough "spirited" jetting discussions at this point that they may be a little tired.
Personally, I'd guess that you're fine with the 62.5 mid with your setup... it worked beautifully for mine when I was running the K&N lunchbox with the stock exhaust. Of course, others will disagree.
Are you sure it's lean? A "stutter" in that RPM range is more often associated with being too rich. Usually, lean "surge" shows up first between 7-8k.
Don't discount the effect of the mixture screws- I shouldn't have. A careful half-turn one way or the other will probably change things enough to tell whether it's better or worse.
Two other words used in seat-of-the-pants tuning are "hesitation" (lean) and "bogging" (rich).
it feels like its running out of fuel. and it got better not fixed but better when i put the restrictor ring in so that richend it a bit.
Yesterday i turned the mix screw out 4 turns, its a lot better but not fixed, so that ring in the k&n and the 4 turns made it richer & it feels 80% better so im going to try a 65 mid jet & put the other stuff back how it was.
