Title: Free to a good owner (with big hands)...
Post by: Wrecent_Wryder on July 02, 2007, 09:18:41 AM
When I was first scheduled for my first riding class, I figured I needed a helmet and gloves in sort of a hurry... I went shopping at a nearby dealer, and overcome with the novelty of finding gloves that were actually big enough, and not knowing if they were more likely to shrink or stretch, I went a bit overboard and got a pair in XXL. They're Joe Rocket "Sonics":

Well, after less than half a season I began to think that they were actually a bit large on me (all right ladies, I know, I know, yuk it up...) and bought a different pair on sale that fit better. Since then I've used them not at all.  I now have two other pair and am thinking about a third, it seems silly to keep these, but I'm not really interested in trying to sell used gloves on eBay, and I hate to just give them to GoodWill and have them end up in a thrift shop labeled "Ski Gloves" or something.

If they were helping someone (with big hands) to get started riding, or someone who's a little strapped to keep riding, I'd like that solution.

They have probably a couple of thousand miles on them, and been soaked in the rain a couple of times. They don't look brand new, but there's no real visible wear or damage, they're perfectly usable.

So, call it $4 to cover shipping (US only, please) and hopefully weed out some that really have no use for them but will take anything "free". PayPal is fine. If no takers in a week or two, they'll go to GoodWill or Purple Heart.

Whaaat ... wait ... wahhhhat ... hey, I resemble that remark.
They remind me of my Balzout gloves that I had, that no one carries around here ... If they are even still around.
Cool.

Ok, I assumed you were kidding when you said you wanted them.

Now I know you are. Surely there's no company with a name phonetically matching "Balzout"...

I bought a set in CA just before I left in 01/02 lasted me till 05 when I lent it to one clown who promptly ripped it. Its Balzout I swear. Now it may be out of biz ... but its definetly not available here, I could do true mail order from someone who has it, if its still there.
Cool.

So, I've got three potential takers, two here and one PM, I think it's time to close the "bidding" for right now and figure out who's serious.

Anyone know for sure how big Srinath's hands are, so we know if he's serious? I know if I ask him directly I'm going to get some cryptic evasion...   ;)

No PayPal required.. I personally, and a great many of us owe you a great deal for all your help, and all your posts here over the years are a continual resource. I have your address if you're still on a street named after a bird's posterior. ;)  Consider it done.

In this area, Purple Heart calls every other month or so asking if we have clothing or salable items to donate, if we do, they come around and pick them up. I imagine they'd do that most places if you called them.
